Mr. Hawks serves as Chairman and CEO of Tenaska, Inc., an international energy company which develops, builds and operates electric generation plants in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Pacific Rim. The company also markets natural gas and electricity in the United States and Canada.

Before forming Tenaska, he started his career at General Motors and went on to be an executive at Enron Corp., working for three of its subsidiary groups. Mr. Hawks is active in the Omaha community and selves on the boards of directors for Methodist Hospital and the Omaha Zoological Society.

Through the Hawks Foundation, he and his wife have provided support to local and national organizations including providing scholarships for undergraduate and post-graduate students now attending 19 in-state and Midwest colleges and universities.
