Undergraduate Advising - UNO CBA’s “Two-Times” Policy

Effective Fall 2002, CBA students may enroll only twice in each required business “core course” (listed below). A withdrawal counts as an enrollment, unless the course is dropped by the Friday of the first week of the semester. Any withdrawal after that first Friday counts as one of the two enrollments.

Revision, effective February 2004:

If a student does not pass with a “C” (2.0) or better in two enrollments, he/she may choose one of the following two options:

1. Accept a mandatory one semester (fall or spring) waiting period before enrolling a 3rd and final time in that required core course. None of the summer sessions will count as the waiting period. During the waiting period, the student cannot enroll in any CBA course for which that required core course is a prerequisite. If the student does not earn a “C’ (2.0) or better in the third attempt of that required core course, the student must choose a non-business major outside CBA.

OR

2. Take the required core course at another institution. Specifically:
A. ECON 2200 and 2220 and ACCT 2010 and 2020 may be taken at any accredited two-year or four-year college or university.

B. A 3000 or 4000 level CBA core course may only be taken at an approved four-year college or university. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Nebraska-Kearney, and Creighton University are the only other approved institutions in Nebraska. CBA Advising can provide a list of approved institutions outside Nebraska.

C. Stat 3000 plus Stat 3010 at UNO may substitute for BSAD 3160.

* CBA "core courses" (i.e., the classes that all undergraduate CBA students are required to take) are: ACCT 2010, ACCT 2020, BSAD 3100, BSAD 3160, BSAD 3500, ECON 2200, ECON 2220, FNBK 3250, LAWS 3910, MGMT 3200, MGMT 3490, MGMT 4480, and MKT 3310
