Teaching
MS (Michigan State University) Professor West teaches Introduction to the US Economy, Principles of Macro-Economics, Principles of Micro-Economics, Labor Economics, and Collective Bargaining. She is co-developer three courses: Introduction to Business targeted to freshmen majoring in business administration, Introduction to the U.S. Economy for education and social work majors, and CBA in Ireland offered to undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Business Administration.
Professor West was honored with the 2004 UNO Alumni Outstanding Teaching Award. Her teaching and research interests include labor issues, union issues, gender issues, and economic education.
Research
Professor West's work is published in Economic Forum, Aging and Work, International Journal of Manpower, Regional Science Perspectives, Journal of Socio-economics, and Feminist Economics.
Service
Professor West serves as Chair of the College of Business Administration's Undergraduate Program Council, is on the UNO-Metro Community College Articulation Committee, and is active in the American Association of Universities at the campus, state, and national level.
