Teaching
MBA (University of Nebraska - Omaha) Laura Ilcisin teaches Introduction to Financial Accounting, Introduction to Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, and Introduction to Business to undergraduates, and Accounting & Financial Fundamentals to graduate students. Other teaching interests include integrating technology (especially the use of spreadsheet software) into the Accounting curriculum.

Research
Professor Ilcisin is interested in local tax policy. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Accounting Association.

Service
Service contributions include IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, Board of Directors and Treasurer for the Council for Government Reform, Inc., Legislation Committee for the Nebraska Society of CPAs, and Douglas County SID #295 Governing Board. She is Past Chairperson, and is on the Steering Committee, a member and mentor for the Women of Influence Scholarship Program.

Industry experience before and during Ms. Ilcisin's tenure at UNO's CBA includes consulting in finance and accounting, employment in the departments of finance, accounting, and strategic planning, and operation at Union Pacific Railroad, administrative director of the Creighton University Institute for Business, Law, & Social Research, and work at ConAgra, Inc.
