Teaching
PhD (University of Chicago) Professor Diamond teaches Applications of Economics related to technology and Economics of e-Business to graduate students, and Principles of Economics-Micro in the undergraduate program. Beyond these courses, Dr. Diamond has teaching interests in the history of economic thought and in labor economics. Dr. Diamond was the 1991 recipient of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Award for Distinguished Research or Creative Activity. His research interests are in technological innovation's impact on economic progress and its role in economic research, and in the reward structure of science.

Research
Professor Diamond has written extensively and his work has been published in The American Economist, Contemporary Economic Policy, Current Contents, Economic Inquiry, Economics of Innovation and New Technology, Education Economics, The History of Economics Society Bulletin, History of Political Economy, International Journal of Technology Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Economic Education, The Journal of Economic History, Journal of Economic Studies, The Journal of Gerontology, The Journal of Human Resources, The Journal of Libertarian Studies, Knowledge and Policy, New Ideas in Psychology, Reason Papers, Research in the History of Economic Thought and Methodology, Research Policy, The Review of Austrian Economics, The Review of Black Political Economy, Science; Science, Technology, and Human Values; Scientometrics, Social Epistemology, and Theory and Decision. Professor Diamond has reviewed articles for nearly as many journals as well as for the National Science Foundation in the Economics Program and the Societal Dimensions of Engineering, Science, and Technology Program.

Service
Professor Diamond is a member of the American Economic Association, History of Economics Society, International Schumpeter Society, Southern Economic Association, and the Western Economic Association.

Dr. Diamond was recognized with College of Business Administration 1999 Dean's Citation in Recognition of Excellence in Service for his work in a number of areas in the college. He is a Heritage Foundation "public policy expert", and is a Junior Achievement volunteer at Montclair Elementary in the Millard public school system.
