Teaching
J.D. (Creighton University 1978), B.A. Economics (Dartmouth College 1975). Professor Lewis teaches Contracts, Government Regulation, and International Law at the undergraduate and graduate level and has taught workers' compensation law at Creighton Law School. Also, Dr. Lewis is interested in teaching torts, ethics, workers' compensation, and bankruptcy. Dr. Lewis has served as faculty advisor on numerous graduate international research projects to Mexico, The Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, and Denmark.
Research
Professor Lewis' research interests include sports law, employment discrimination, worker's compensation, the law of disease, negligence, bankruptcy, civil rights, and international law. Dr. Lewis and a co-author were honored with the Best Paper Award at the Midwestern Academy of Management. His work has been published in DePaul Law Journal, Labor Law Journal, Mississippi Law Journal, Villanova Law Journal, American Business Law Journal, African American Sociology, Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies, Washburn Law Journal, Africana Studies, History and Social Policy, and Oklahoma City University Law Review.
Service
Before entering academe, Dr. Lewis served as in-house counsel for InterNorth, Inc., and was in private practice. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Academy of Legal Studies in Business, and, being a line judge in the NFL, the National Football League Referees Association. He services on various college and university committees, and has been a member of the UNO Faculty Senate. Dr. Lewis speaks French and travels extensively overseas.
