PhD (University of Iowa) Professor Martin teaches Principles of Management, Managerial Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory & Design, Management of Teams, Managerial Decision Making, Management of Quality & Process Improvement, MBA Seminars in Turnover & Retention, Decision Making, Leadership, and Distant Management. Dr. Martin is very committed to engaging and motivating students to do the hard work necessary to develop a high quality and applied knowledge about becoming a better leader, decision maker, and manager in the companies they work for, as well as in their own personal lives.

Research
Dr. Martin's research interests include turnover and retention, organization commitment, apathetic employees and how to reduce their apathy, quality management and how to improve quality. He has been awarded the Best Paper Award in three different divisions of the National Academy of Management Annual Meetings. Professor Martin's work is published in Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Human Relations, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Telemarketing. He has served as a reviewer for the Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management, Southern Management Association, and Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies.

Service
Professor Martin is a member of the Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management, National Academy of Management, and Midwest Academy of Management. He has served as President, Vice President, Program Chair, and Board Member of the Midwest Academy of Management; OB, OD, and OT Division Chair of the Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management; and participated in community service training programs in leadership, motivation, supervision and decision making. Before entering academe, Dr. Martin worked for Westinghouse Corporation as a sales engineer and an industrial engineer and worked for John Deere Corporation as an industrial engineer.
