Teaching
PhD (University of Nebraska-Lincoln) Professor Morris teaches Policy, Planning & Strategy and Seminar in Management: International Management to graduate students. She teaches Administrative Policy & Strategy and Seminar in Business Administration to students in the Executive MBA program. Her teaching has been recognized, and awards include 2004 University Excellence in Teaching Award and 2003 Alumni Outstanding Teaching Award. . She is the co-director of the "CBA in Ireland" course. Other teaching interests include strategic management, competitive intelligence, international management, and entrepreneurship.
Research
Professor Morris' research interests include corporate social responsibility, mission statements, strategic planning processes, and competitive intelligence. Research awards include John Wiley & Sons Outstanding Paper in Management Education awarded by the Management Education Division of the Academy of Management, Finalist for the Curtis E. Tate Best Case Award by the North American Case Research Association, supervising professor for case recognized as the Outstanding Student-Authored Case Award presented by the North American Case Research Association, and medals received from the President of Lithuania and the Rector of Siauliai University, Siauliai, Lithuania for supervision of economic development projects conducted by EMBA students in Lithuania. Dr. Morris' work is published in Journal of Management, Long Range Planning, Journal of Business Strategies, Journal of Product and Brand Management, Case Research Journal, Business Case Journal, Journal of Management Education, and Journal of Teaching in International Business. Her cases are published in more than 10 textbooks including books in strategic management, business ethics and international business. She is on the editorial board for the Journal of Business Strategies, and reviews work for the Journal of Management Education and Case Research Journal.
Service
Dr. Morris is a member of North American Case Research Association and Academy of Management. She serves as facilitator for UNO Strategic Planning Committee, member of the CBA Strategic Planning Council, President-Elect for North American Case Research Association, President of Beta Gamma Sigma (Business honorary), and Board of Directors for Omaha Sister Cities Association. Morris has done consulting work for firms in the toy manufacturing, food processing and insurance industries and for non-profit organizations such as the Omaha Home for Boys and Council Bluffs Meals on Wheels.
