Omicron Delta Epsilon
Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) is the International Honor Society in Economics. The society was founded in 1915 at the University of Wisconsin. The University of Nebraska at Omaha has had an ODE chapter since 1966. ODE membership is recognized by the Federal government and graduate schools as an indication of exceptional performance by a student.
Membership in ODE for undergraduates requires Junior standing (58 credit hours), minimally twelve credit hours of economics courses (including Principles of Economics), an overall GPA of 3.0, and an economics GPA of 3.0.
Membership in ODE for graduate students requires one semester of graduate work completed, six credit hours of economics courses, an overall GPA of 3.0, and an economics GPA of 3.0.
There is a one-time initiation fee to become a member of ODE. For this initiation fee you will receive a scroll suitable for framing and a one-year subscription to the American Economist. An initiation banquet is usually held in April. At this banquet, we will also recognize students who have received department awards and scholarship.
