HOW ABOUT MAJORING IN ECONOMICS!

  • Economists are employed by private business, financial institutions, government at all levels, educational institutions, not-for profit organizations, and research institutions.

  • Economists forecast future revenues and costs and analyze competitive market conditions for businesses.

  • Economists make recommendations involving capital investments, marketing of new products, health care financing, and the effects of government regulation on businesses.

  • Economists do cost/benefit analysis studies of proposed legislation and public-sector projects, and give advice to local, state, and federal politicians.

  • Economists measure the economic impact of taxes and forecast future tax revenues.

  • Economists work in economic development agencies at the state and local level of government.

  • Economics is an excellent major for law school.

  • Economics is a superb preparation for graduate work in areas such as financial management, marketing, international relations, public administration, and political science.

  • Economics is also an excellent dual major or minor for other areas of study as international studies, history, political science, and any of the areas in business administration.
