- CBA’s graduating MBA students' scores are in the top five percent overall for nation-wide exams and in the top five percent over the major business fields of strategic integration, accounting, marketing and management.
- UNO’s CBA has over 18,000 graduates!
- CBA was formed in 1952. Before that we were a business department at Omaha University.
- UNO first offered an MBA in 1965 and added an Executive MBA degree in 1975. Of over 250 EMBA programs offered in the US, only a dozen have more experience than UNO’s.
- John Lucas was the founding Dean of the college. Since his retirement in 1969, there have been six more Deans. Our current Dean is Louis G. Pol, Ph.D.
- CBA moved into the building now named Roskens Hall when the building opened in 1975.
- The Nebraska Business Development Center, the Small Business Development Program at UNO and a department in CBA, was created in 1977.
- Business programs in CBA were first accredited by AACSB, the gold standard in business school accreditation, in 1965.
- UNO’s CBA has over 150 student interns in the Omaha region every year. Over 70 percent of the internships convert into full time, career track positions.
- CBA’s graduating seniors' scores are in the top 10 percent in nation-wide exams in Accounting and Economics, and in the top15 percent nationwide in Finance, International Issues, Marketing, and Legal and Social Environment.
- More than 75 percent of UNO CBA undergraduates are full time students. Their average age is 21 and they take an average of 13.5 credit hours a semester.
- Twenty-two percent of CBA’s undergraduate students take classes part time, averaging 6.75 credit hours a semester.
- Over three fourths of incoming pre-business freshmen rate UNO is their first choice and 93 percent say UNO is their first or second choice.
- Over 45 percent of CBA’s graduating seniors were involved in volunteer work outside their coursework while in college.
Nearly 40 percent of CBA’s graduating seniors participated in an internship that they learned about at UNO. CBA internships require 180 hours on the job and earn three hours of course credit; most are paid positions.
- Over half of CBA’s students participate in student organizations during their college years.
