Biography:

I am currently an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO). In the Spring of 2009, I was awarded the Lucas Diamond Chair in UNO's Collage of Business.  I obtained  my Ph.D. in Business Economics from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 2000 and currently teach Business and Economic Forecasting in UNO's Masters of Economics Program, and Managerial Economics in UNO’s MBA program. I have also taught Microeconomic Principles as well as graduate and undergraduate seminars in Environmental Economics. I've been fortunate to have my papers published in several academic journals such as the Economic Inquiry, Regulation & Governance, Review of Regional Studies, Annals of Regional Science, Applied Economics, the Journal of Law and Economics, Historical Methods, and Contemporary Economic Policy. Before joining the professoriate, I worked for DRI/McGraw-Hill (now Global Insight) and FW Dodge/McGraw-Hill, producing forecasts of energy prices and demand, long-range macroeconomic and demographic indicators, as well as commercial, industrial, residential and institutional building activity. As a graduate student, I was involved in regional economic impact analysis and forecasting for the Center for Econometric Model Research at Indiana University.

I moved to Omaha, NE in the Fall of 2001, and currently live in West Omaha with my wife Jennifer and two young boys, Michael and Evan.

Below are some details regarding my professional career.  If you are at all interested in any of my published papers, working papers, etc., please feel free to contact me at any time (via email would be best).
