OFFICE HOURS

for

Michael J. O'Hara, J.D., Ph.D.

(classes taught each semester listed below office hours)

Fall  2008

Most frequently, the problems of any one individual student are shared by most students; accordingly, the first, and by far most important means of contact with the professor is for an individual student to ask a question during class.  All students are encouraged to do so.  Every class will start with a request from the professor for the assembled students to ask questions.

To know you do not know,
and to then take action to remove your self identified ignorance,
it is the only true mark of an educated person
.

Students are encouraged to ask questions in the classroom, however, the professor does have office hours.  During Fall 2008 the professor will be in his
RH 502 office from 9:00 AM until moving to the RH 010A classroom for the 10:00 AM class on Monday and on Wednesday
.  O'Hara also has class on Monday evening and on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:40 PM.  Office hours will be held from 5:30 PM until the start of class as well as following class, respectively, in RH 404 and RH 206.

Based on many semesters of experience with using
voice mail, email, and BlackBoard for receiving and then answering student questions,
no longer will the professor accept student questions posed via voice mail, email, or BlackBoard.

For those rare questions of personal nature, the instructor definitely is available for private appointments.  When seeking to set up such a private appointment the student may initiated contact in person, via voice mail, or via email.

Dr. O'Hara does not provide tutoring in private appointments (i.e., at times other than office hours).
Private appointments are for discussing confidential matters.
Dr. O'Hara will be quite flexible in finding a mutually agreeable time for a private appointment.

Typically, I check my voice mail daily and my email daily during ordinary business hours.

If you contact me by voice mail or email to set up a private appointment,
please
speed up the process of selecting a mutually agreeable time
by suggesting several times that will work for you
And, when you leave your phone number, please, speak slowly and leave your phone number twice.
