About the Internship Program Who are CBA internship candidates? Prospective interns are junior and senior business majors who have completed at least 58 hours of coursework. Majors include accounting, economics, finance, business law, marketing, management, and real estate.How do I create an internship in my company? Internships must present students with an opportunity to practice business skills and concepts. Ideas might include market research, customer service, inventory analysis, or reports. It is important that assignments minimize purely clerical work and that the intern has some decision-making authority over his or her project. How do I hire an intern? Submit a completed Internship Opportunity Form to bhenney@mail.unomaha.edu (or fax to 554-2010). Faculty coordinators will post your position on University internship websites, interview interested students and send you the resumés of interested applicants to match your needs. You decide which students to interview and then select the one that best fits your company's needs. What are my responsibilities? At the end of the three months, you fill out a performance evaluation form (a simple, two-sided checklist) about the intern and submit it to an internship coordinator. Interns receive hourly wages ranging from $8 to $13. In order to receive course credit, they must complete 180 hours of work in a three month period. Can I keep my intern longer than three months? Absolutely. Many companies are so impressed with the quality of our interns' contributions that they opt to keep them longer.
