Students participating in the ACG Cup Competition may earn elective credit (3 hours) by enrolling in the class described below:

New Class Offering - *BSAD 8910 – Special Topics: Mergers and Acquisitions (3 credits) - This class presents an exciting opportunity for UNO graduate students to participate in a business plan competition focusing on mergers and acquisitions. The Nebraska chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), formed last year, is inviting graduate students from UNO, UNL and Creighton to participate in the first annual ACG Mergers and Acquisitions Cup.

Twenty students with diverse backgrounds (finance, marketing, accounting, etc.) will be selected to represent UNO. The twenty students will then form teams of four members per team. The initial phase of the competition will be among the five UNO teams. The winning team will then represent UNO in a competition with teams from UNL and Creighton. Cash prizes will be presented: $5,000 for first place; $2,500 for second place; and $1,000 for third place.

This class will not follow the scheduling pattern of a typical UNO MBA class. Participants in the initial round of the competition will work together to create a pitch book from January 23-27 and present their pitches to a panel ACG judges on January 30. The team chosen to participate in the second round of competition with Creighton and UNL will work on a new pitch book from February 20-24 and present to a panel of ACG judges on March 1st.

This course is a late addition to the class schedule. Details regarding scheduling, etc. will be made available via email. Additionally, ACG representatives will be on campus visiting classes and hosting information sessions.

Approval is required to register. Interested participants must complete an application (available on the MBA website or in MH 300).
