UNO College of Business Administration Celebrates 60th Anniversary on Sept. 14
Omaha - On Sept. 14, the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) College of Business Administration (CBA) will be celebrating its 60th anniversary with an alumni panel, brief program and cocktail reception in Mammel Hall, 6708 Pine St.
The alumni panel begins at 4 p.m. and will focus on the evolution of business education at UNO over the past 60 years. The panel will feature CBA alumni Herb S klenar, Gail DeBoer, and Colleen Maciejewski.
Formal remarks from CBA Dean Louis G. Pol will follow the panel at 5 p.m. in the Mammel Hall auditorium. Other speakers include former dean William Muse and current business student Kara Weiler. A cocktail reception, including tours of Mammel Hall, will follow the program.
“There is much to celebrate on the occasion of our 60th anniversary,” Pol said. “The accomplishments of our 19,000 alumni, including more than 200 known company CEOs and presidents, attest to the solid foundation our programs create for success in business, government, and non-profit organizations. Our future is brighter than ever.”
The College of Business Administration was founded in 1952, when UNO was known as the Municipal University of Omaha, under the leadership of Dean John Lucas. His vision for business education was a high-quality, cutting-edge curriculum taught by a first-rate faculty and available at an affordable price.
Today, Lucas’ vision is continued through the mission of the UNO CBA to prepare future business leaders through high quality educational experiences linking theory with practice and reflecting multi-disciplinary demands of businesses that are increasingly innovative, global, technologically-oriented and diverse; to conduct significant academic and applied research, and to actively engage with the metropolitan community and beyond.
