Round Table: "Best Practices of Master Studies at Nebraska University, Omaha"

The Faculty of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) discussed best practicies of Master level studies at Nebraska Univeristy, Omaha, at a round table held on October 14, 2008. The discussion started with a presentation by Jack Armitage, Senior Fulbright Specialist.

Moldovan participants raised a lot of questions about the peculiarities of the U.S. educational system. Participants were interested in comparing the educational systems of the two countries and discussed the advantages and disadventages of each.

Special attention was devoted to the importance of the Master's degree for further professional development in getting licences of Certified Public Accountant (CPA,) Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Internal Audit (CIA.) Dr. Armitage was impressed by the interest of his Moldovan colleagues in suggesting changes to the educational system which would lead to raising the prestige of studies in the field of accounting and audit.
