John R. Anstey

Teaching
PhD (University of Arkansas) Professor Anstey teaches Managerial Leadership, Management, and Survey of Business. His teaching interests include behavioral management, organizational decision making, organizational theory, strategic management, marketing, and economics.

Research
Professor Anstey's research interests include entrepreneurship, instructional excellence, leadership, learning organization, managerial ethics, motivation, and workplace bullying. His work was recognized with a Distinguished Paper award from the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Association. His work has been published in two supplemental textbooks and in various refereed conference proceedings.

Service
Dr. Anstey is a member of the Academy of Management, Beta Gamma Sigma, Delta Sigma Pi, Golden Key, Omicron Delta Kappa, Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, Small Business and Entrepreneurship Association, and Society for the Advancement of Management.

Professor Anstey has served as the Volunteer Executive Director for the Nebraska Academic Decathlon Program for 19 years. Of the 40 states with an Academic Decathlon Program, Nebraska is the only state where an all volunteer organization operates the program and has never received any funding from state government. He is the Chairman of the Nebraska Academic Decathlon, Inc. Board of Directors and a member of the Nebraska Academic Decathlon Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors. He is a member of the Omaha MidCity Optimist Board of Directors and has served as President. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska District Optimists and has served as Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Secretary-Treasure. He serves as the faculty advisor of the professional business fraternity-Delta Sigma Pi.

Before entering the professoriate, Dr. Anstey worked in management for Western Electric, Inc., and Gate City Steel, Inc.
