Teaching
PhD (Claremont Graduate School) Professor Baum teaches Principles of Economics, Contemporary Economics for Business Management, Economic Theory-Micro, and Public Economics. His teaching interests also include government expenditures and taxation.

Research
Professor Baum's research interests include fiscal competition and the economics of taxation. His research is published in journals such as Public Finance Review, Land Economics, Journal of Macroeconomics, Journal of Economic Development, Journal of Economics, and Conflict Management and Peace Science. Dr. Baum has served as a reviewer for several economics journals, including Public Finance Review, Journal of Macroeconomics, International Review of Economics and Finance, and Contemporary Economic Policy.

Professor Baum is a member of the American Economic Association, and is active in the Omaha Association of Business Economists.
