In times of change, how and what we learn
must keep pace. Recognizing that,
we’ve spent the last six months reinventing our Executive MBA program.
While our program was already a sound career development investment and
offered an empowering educational experience, we recognized that there were
opportunities to improve and to better meet your needs. With a taskforce of
top educators, administrators and alumni, aided by the wisdom of the
business community, we redesigned and refocused the program. Our goal was,
and continues to be, to help you make the transition from specialist or
functional manager to general manager and executive.
We’ve made a good program even better.
So, what has changed and why?
First, we saved the best from our past and combined it with significant new
content in order to better prepare you for high-level management and
leadership responsibilities. Recognizing the demands that an increasingly
competitive workplace and personal obligations make on your life, we reduced
the program length from 24 to 18 months and the course work from 48 to 41
credit hours. To reduce non-productive travel time to classes and to aid
your time management, we scheduled classes every other weekend on Fridays
from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. As before,
no classes are scheduled on three day weekends.
Program content combines the best of the old
and the new. We’ve retained a
strategic look at the foundation disciplines of business – economics,
finance, marketing, strategy, leadership and management. To better prepare
you for high level responsibilities, we’ve added new modules on change
management, global management, statistical and decision making tools, and
ethics. We’ve also incorporated formal communication skills instruction to
facilitate your personal development. Finally, recognizing that one size
does not fit all, we have incorporated four elective courses that allow you
to focus your attention on subjects specifically related to your career and
professional development needs and interests.
We offer innovative opportunities to apply
what you learn. We employ two
in-depth business research and analysis projects that make our program
unique. The Triad project serves as a vehicle to integrate and apply your
learning in Finance, Marketing and Law while the International Business
Consulting Experience, with its two weeks of overseas field research, serves
as the program’s capstone project. Both projects provide unparalleled
opportunities to apply what has been learned in the classroom to the real
world concerns of the corporations and organizations who sponsor these
projects.
Join us.
I believe you will find that our Executive
MBA program offers quality, meaningful preparation for the important next
steps in your career. Your investment of time and resources in the program
will help forge the strategic perspective and hone the competitive edge
you’ll need to rise to the top in your field of endeavor. We look forward
to the opportunity to contribute to your success!
